- THUMBS UP to Steven O'Brien and other heroes who came to the rescue of
an East Bridgewater woman who was unaware that her car was on fire as she
drove with her young daughter. Kim Bouffard was driving her 2003 Hyundai
Santa Fe when it caught fire as she drove near the West
Bridgewater-Brockton line Wednesday morning. But she wasn't aware of the
danger until O'Brien, a West Bridgewater Water Department worker, cut her
off in traffic to alert her to the danger. O'Brien, with the help of Harry
Reid, grabbed her 3-year-old daughter from the back car seat and ran from
the burning vehicle. Linda Caffrey of West Bridgewater let Bouffard and
her daughter sit in her car while they waited for help and an unidentified
elderly couple gave Bouffard an extra coat to wear in the cold and bought
snacks for her daughter.
